Named in honour of Anthony Lewis Greaves |

 Constable First Class Anthony Lewis Greaves was born in Maryborough, Queensland on the 24th
November 1964. He joined the Queensland Police Service on the 6th August 1984 and following training was sworn in as a Constable of Police on the 8th February 1985 and transferred to the
Moorooka Police Station.
During his service Constable 1/c Greaves was attached to Mount Isa, Burketown, Normanton, Police Operations Centre and the Brisbane Traffic Branch. On the 9th February 1991, Constable 1/c Greaves, performing duty as a motorcycle traffic branch officer, was killed in a traffic incident at Woolloongabba while responding to the urgent medical escort of a critically ill man. |

"A.L. GREAVES" The "A.L. GREAVES" was launched on the 4th July 2009 at Main Beach on the Queensland Gold Coast in the presence of Police Minister Neil Roberts, the Commissioner of Police Mr. Bob Atkinson and the Member for Broadwater Peta-Kaye Croft. The "A.L. GREAVES" is a 7.3 metre fibreglass catamaran built by Noosa Cat on the Queensland Sunshine Coast. She has a cruise speed of 24 knots, a top speed of 48 knots and a range of 300 nautical miles. Valued at $230,000 the "A L Greaves" is the first vessel in the Queensland Water Police fleet to be fitted with a Forward Looking Infra Red (FLIR) camera capable of detecting body heat signatures during search and rescue operations. During the launch Commissioner Atkinson said, “Constable Greaves paid the ultimate price in serving the people of Queensland, and his memory will live on with this important addition to the QPS fleet. The QPS tradition of naming vessels in its fleet after officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty means that our Water Police are given a daily reminder of the dedication and bravery of those who have gone before them.” The "A.L. GREAVES" will be based at the Gold Cost Water Police and replaces the "C.W. BROWN IV" that has been transferred to Brisbane.
