SAR Calculator©

The SAR Calculator© application has been designed as an aid which may assist SAR practitioners with search planning calculations consistent with accepted search and rescue procedures and practices, and the methodologies adopted in the Australian National Search and Rescue Manual.

This search and rescue calculation and planning application does not replace the skill, formal training and knowledge of a qualified Search and Rescue Mission Coordinator (SMC), and should not be relied upon as a primary SMC decision making tool.

Please Note: SAR Calculator© is a binary program file with the .exe extension. Some network administrators will not permit these files to be executed on their network and the file may need to be run from a standalone computer.

When clicking on the SAR Calculator© link below you may also be prompted to download and save the file to your computer before you will be permitted to open it.

Should you experience problems running SAR Calculator©, or accessing any of its files or functions, from this CD please copy the SARCalc Directory from this disc using Windows Explorer, or similar file management program, to your hard drive or USB drive. You can then execute SAR Calculator© by double clicking on the SAR Calculator.exe file located within the program directory.
